SB 1390    RELATING TO TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS                 TIA,JDC
        Establishes the offense of aggressive driving. Sets
        penalties. (Mizuguchi(BR))

SB 2638    RELATING TO DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF     TIA,JDC
        DRUGS
        Reduces jail time for driving under the influence of
        drugs by conforming the penalties with those provided
        for driving under the influence of intoxicating
        liquor. makes reduced penalties retroactive to first-
        offense pending cases. (Mizuguchi(BR))

SB 2640    RELATING TO DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE            TIA,JDC
        Allows police to select choice of test for an arrestee
        for driving under the influence of drugs or driving
        under the influence of intoxicating liquor. Permits
        refusal of test to be admissible in other proceedings.
        Changes definition of drugs. (Mizuguchi(BR))

SB 2347    RELATING TO LIQUOR COMMISSIONS                 TIA,WAM
        Allows county liquor commissions to limit by ordinance
        total number of licenses in any class or kind, and set
        hours of operation and allow county councils to
        approve budgets of liquor commissions. (Fukunaga,
        Ihara, Kawamoto)

SB 3051    RELATING TO LIQUOR EXPORT                      TIA,JDC

 
        Allows the export of locally made Hawaiian wines,
        spirits, and champagnes. (Anderson)

SB 3063    RELATING TO LIQUOR TAX LAW                     TIA,WAM
        Redefines the term "cooler beverage" to mean a liquor
        with less than 7% alcohol with blending material.

SB 3101    RELATING TO LODGING OR TENEMENT HOUSES,        TIA,WAM
        HOTELS, AND BOARDINGHOUSES
        Eliminates issue of a county business license to
        operate lodging or tenement houses, hotels, and
        boardinghouses and repeals the $10 annual license fee.

SB 3008    RELATING TO TRAFFIC RECORDS                    TIA,WAM
        Allows for automatic expungement of traffic record for
        violations which are subsequently cleared. (Tam)

SB 2315    RELATING TO SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS            TIA,JDC
        Gives the individual person the choice of refusing to
        have that person's social security number displayed on
        any card, form, electronic record, notice, poster or
        other medium that may be seen by a member of the
        public. Gives the person a private right of action
        with automatic mandatory penalty and attorney fees for
        violation of this section. (Kawamoto)

SB 3052    MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A WAR MEMORIAL     TIA,WAM
        HONORING THE "TORPEDO GANG" OF WORLD WAR II 
        Appropriates funds for a World War II memorial
        honoring the "Torpedo Gang" of World War II. (Levin,
        Inouye)

SB 2552    MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO UPGRADE THE         TIA,WAM
        TELECOMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM OF THE HAWAII COUNTY POLICE
        DEPARTMENT
        Appropriates funds to upgrade Hawaii county police
        department's telecommunications system. (Matsuura,
        Inouye)

SB 3166    RELATING TO TRAFFIC IMPROVEMENT                TIA,WAM
        Appropriates funds for improving the roads at the
        intersection of King and Middle streets to ease the
        traffic congestion. (Sakamoto, Kawamoto)

testimony to the committee clerk, Room 205, State Capitol, 24
hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if less
than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at
586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at
least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  When faxing, please
indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and
time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for
submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
the disabled), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior
to the hearing so arrangements can be made.

Public Folder.  A folder labeled "Public Folder" containing the
measures and testimonies for the hearing will be available for
shared use by members of the public.
